How does the procedure work?
Pressure plate analysis is a very simple procedure that only takes a few minutes. The pressure plate is connected to a computer and the pressure distribution is displayed on screen once the patient is standing or walking over the plate. The sensors in the plate record the pressure and then display the information in various graphical forms. The analysis is accurate because the plate only works with a barefoot measurement and therefore does not allow a supply evaluation. The measurement shows a precise distribution of the body pressure on the feet, as well as the patient’s center of gravity. The examination process is very fast and takes less than 20 minutes. The foot pressure measurement takes only four steps:
- Anamnesis: Grasp information from the patient
- Walk: Patient has to walk barefoot three to five steps
- Repeat: Perform several measurement runs for comparison
- Demonstrate: Show patients the motion sequence
