The last is the basis of any shoe, and therefore also forms the foundation for an individual shoe fitting. Especially in orthopaedics, the quality and fit of the fitting depends on the shape of the fitting.
paromed has been offering last production for you as an additional service for years. Numerous customers already trust in paromed’s expertise in this field as well – and have outsourced this important process step to us. Your benefits: greater efficiency and lower costs.
Production of the high quality OrthoCAM lasts is flexible, which you have come to expect from paromed.
Step 1: You create an order in the paromed order software provided by us and submit your order to us.
Step 2: You send us the impression of the foot. Ideally a 3Dv scan is taken, or a full foot scan with the iPad app. Alternatively, we can also work with blueprints including circumferences, plaster casts or copy socks. If you provide us with a physical impression, we digitalise it and then use it in the digital production process.
Step 2a: Modelling the lasts with your own software is also a possibility. Then you send us the finished file for production.
Step 3: paromed offers a choice of two different production methods:
Production on the 4-axis milling machine
With our powerful 4-axis milling machine, we are able to mill beech wood blanks for you so that no pins are left and manual post-processing is reduced to a minimum. This results in a price advantage and a better fit.
Production on the 3D printer
With this innovative production method, we produce a last shell using a 3D printing process. It is then foamed with special foam using a unique procedure. 3D printing consumes considerably less resources compared to milling so the cost is lower.
Step 4: Once the last is finished, we are also happy to produce the bedding and fabricate trial footwear for you on request.
